Where are you located?
We have a beautiful home studio located in Cranston, Calgary. The studio space contains two teaching rooms, fully equipped with upright pianos, books, microphones, and speakers. Everything you need for your piano or voice lessons!
Are there any performance opportunities?
Yes! We offer recitals two times each school year. While recitals are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged!
How long should lessons be?
Lessons generally take place once per week. Beginners start with 30 minutes, Intermediate students have 45 minute lessons, and Advanced students have 60 minute lessons. Your lesson length can be adjusted based on your personal goals.
Do you offer a trial lesson before committing to lessons?
Yes, we can offer a trial lesson for the fee of 35 per 30 minutes.
How much does my child need to practice?
Daily practice is an essential part of learning music! Much like a language, students need to play daily in order to progress and gain confidence in the skills they are learning. Generally, beginner students can expect to practice 5-30 minutes per day depending on their level and attention span.
Is a digital piano acceptable?
Yes, a digital piano is accepted although an acoustic is preferred. If choosing a digital piano, it is important that it is a full sized (88 keys) and is touch sensitive. Generally a digital piano can work for students just starting, but when students reach Level 1 RCM I do recommend that families invest in an acoustic piano.
I would like to wait to purchase a piano until I know my child will "stick with it." Is that ok?
No, students will need a piano before beginning lessons. Without daily practice, students will not progress and can easily lose motivation in learning their instrument. If you need help finding a piano I am happy to give you more information.
