Maryna Horbotova, Piano and Voice
Maryna's musical career started at the age of 6 when she came to music school and decided to tie her life with music, more specifically with the piano. Piano lessons that she had gotten were like a whole independent world where she could drown out and forget about her childhood’s “very-important” problems. Her passion for music was firing up year-to-year as were her skills. Growing in love with music she wanted much more than to play at the recitals and take part in competitions. When she played a musical piece she could feel the emotions that the composer envisioned, and she would pour them out into my performance. She couldn’t live without music, so she enrolled at the Glière Institute of Music in Kyiv, majoring in piano.
During this time Maryna started providing music lessons including music theory and history for children. Maryna loved seeing the children learning new skills and having fun. After her four years at college, she studied singing in the Pavel Chubynsky Academy of Arts in Kyiv.
In addition to teaching private music lessons, she has also been a musical director in a kindergarten. Maryna loves to instill a love of music in each student, and one of her favourite parts of teaching is seeing students perform in recitals.
After moving to Canada, she was excited to start teaching again, and joined the faculty of Modern Music Studio and Aurora Music Academy. She enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. Her mission is to bring to my students love, joy and passion with learning music.
‘‘Nothing right can be accomplished in art without enthusiasm.’’
- Robert Schumann
